I understand it is hard to get good people, and the labour market in NL is pretty bad.but it's a pub, it's a place that serves food and drink to a very willing customer base. Mostly the wait staff seem to be disinterested and just really slow, but if you challenge them on it, or God forbid try to rush them to bring your bill (took 3 attempts and 20 minutes to pay last night, I should have just walked out) then they become actively rude. though the service has been sporadically good (couple of great lads working last week, good craic!) but overall, very very bad and getting worse. It's got a great location, handy to Vondelpark and is a really pretty spot to sit and watch the world go past on a balmy summers' night in Amsterdam. With reservations, the Maitre ‘D had us wait while he answered the phone (not asking the caller to hold), then go check on “something”, then wouldn’t give us a menu, but instead we had.
